The change and growth inherent in the word Evolution are at the core of the services we provide at Evolution Psychotherapy Training and Consultancy.

We are UKCP registered Integrative Psychotherapists with more than 20 years experience working with adolescents and adults in the NHS, private health and voluntary sectors, as well as the state and private education systems. Our backgrounds in social work and education compliment our therapeutic approach and have helped us recognise the need for a specialist psychotherapy service, designed to support professionals and organisations working with adolescents and adults. We have particular expertise in working with those struggling with eating disorders, self-harm, anxiety and depression.

Evolution uses a developmental approach (from infancy through to adulthood), in order to understand human behaviour, and considers a person’s past experiences to be relevant to their current relationships and frame of mind.

Integrative Psychotherapy

Our therapeutic model is Integrative. The integrative psychotherapy model was developed in the 1970’s and synthesises several different approaches. At Evolution, the model we use combines elements of psychodynamic, existential, cognitive and systemic theory and practice. This flexible and diverse approach enables us to work with individuals based on their own unique and complex needs, in order to facilitate change and improve their quality of life. We also apply this same approach when working with groups and organisations.

Consultation and Training for Professionals

At Evolution we tailor training packages for groups and organisations who work with young people and adults and wish to gain a better understanding of the practical, psychological and social complexities of self-destructive behaviour.

Our trainings are suitable for:

Psychotherapy for Individuals

At Evolution we also offer an individual psychotherapy service to people from 16 years upwards who are seeking to change and understand their behaviour. Taking the first step towards finding the most appropriate type of therapeutic support can feel daunting. We provide a confidential, non-judgemental assessment and referral service for anyone seeking psychotherapy. We hold a database of qualified and specialist psychotherapists who work in this field and match people’s needs accordingly.
